The Blues dominated the game, but it was the Gunners who were the most effective. Without having possession, Arsenal exploited their highlights perfectly. Stina Blackstenius opened the scoring in the 22nd (1-0), then Chloe Kelly doubled the lead after half an hour (32nd, 2-0), while Chelsea had hit the target twice in the first ten minutes.
At the end of the half, the Blues reduced the score, but the goal was canceled, a decision confirmed by the VAR (42nd). Lauren James finally revived the Blues shortly after the hour mark (66th, 2-1), but Alessia Russo dug the hole ten minutes later (3-1).
Chelsea and Arsenal will play their quarter-final second leg on Wednesday April 1 at 9 p.m.
In the other match of the evening, Wolfsburg won 1-0 against OL Lyonnes. The return match will take place on Thursday April 2 at around 9 p.m.
