A little calm before the storm for Paris Saint-Germain. After its new walk against Chelsea in the Champions League, PSG will travel this weekend to the pitch of a lethargic OGC Nice before the international break. After which Luis Enrique’s players will resume at home against Toulouse, before jumping head first into a series of dangers.
In the space of 11 days, Paris will host Liverpool, travel to Lens then to Anfield, before meeting Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes. Two crucial clashes in the race for the Ligue 1 title and a double confrontation to stay alive in the defense of European status, the sequence will be worth its weight in gold.
The PSG “4L Trophy”:
- April 8: vs Liverpool (Parc des Princes)
- April 11 : vs Lens (Bollaert)
- 14 avril : vs Liverpool (Anfield)
- April 19: vs Lyon (Parc des Princes)
Without Barcola, but with Fabian Ruiz?
Against Chelsea, PSG restarted a spiral of positive results and gave substance to its aura as a European champion feared by the competition. But the Parisians left London with one downside: the injury to Bradley Barcola, the man in form of the moment with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The former Lyonnais suffers from a “severe ligament sprain of the right ankle” and will be absent for several weeks. He is expected to miss the double confrontation against Liverpool.
But in the great crossover of the infirmary, Luis Enrique could well register a return of weight. Injured in the knee and absent since January 20, the Spaniard Fabian Ruiz could reappear in the Parisian group after the international break, according to several media. Not the same position as Barcola, certainly, but a return of any kind remains a reinforcement at this stage of the season. Especially before stuffing the 4L.
