Justin Trudeau added fuel to Katy Perry romance rumors on Wednesday when he was spotted at her Lifetimes Tour in Canada.
The sighting comes just days after the former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, and the “Teenage Dream” singer, 40, were photographed walking in a park in Montreal on Monday, TMZ reported.
Newsweek reached out to Perry’s representative via email and Trudeau via Instagram for comment on Thursday.
The Context
Perry and actor Orlando Bloom ended their 9-year relationship in June and called off their engagement. The couple first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016, and they have one daughter together, Daisy Dove, 4.
During a the premiere episode of American Idol in 2019, the former judge shared details about their initial interaction.
“I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together,” she said on the reality singing competition. “So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden, I see my boyfriend’s hand—he wasn’t even sitting at our table—he just swoops in and he grabs it and I’m like, ‘Hey that’s my burger!'”
Trudeau and wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau got married in 2005, and they separated in 2023. The exes co-parent and their three children: sons Xavier James and Hadrien Grégoire and daughter Ella-Grace.
On the Next Question with Katie Couric podcast in May 2024, Grégoire Trudeau spoke out about their separation.
“It hurts deeply,” she said. “You know, marriage is ‘success.’ Separation and divorce is ‘failure.'”

On July 30, Trudeau was spotted in the audience at Perry’s tour stop at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Photos and videos of him smiling and singing in the crowd have since gone viral on social media. Pop Base, an entertainment news X account with 2.2 million followers, posted an image of Trudeau to the platform.
“Justin Trudeau spotted at Katy Perry’s Lifetimes Tour in Montreal, Canada,” the caption read. At the time of publication, the post racked up more than 962,000 views and 22,000 likes.
Pop culture fan account @kaxishk posted a video to X of Trudeau singing to Perry’s hit Fireworkwhich garnered an additional 85,100 views and 1,400 likes.
Following their walk on Monday, Perry and Trudeau dined at Le Violon, a higly rated restaurant in Montreal’s Plateau neighborhood. It has not been confirmed whether the outing was a date or a platonic meeting.

Perry kicked off her Lifetime’s Tour in Mexico City in April. Her next stop will be at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City on Friday.
While announcing the tour in January, the pop star shared what people could expect to see from the show.
“We’re giving BPM (beats per minute). We’re giving celebration. We’re giving unity. We’re giving dance,” she told Rolling Stone at the time. “It will be like Disneyland on Wheels, as it always is. A feast for the eyes and the ears.”
