PSG captain, Kvaratskhelia would be in Arsenal’s sights

According to reports from The Independent, Arsenal are targeting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for a summer reshuffle. However, there would be no question of the Georgian striker leaving PSG.

Under contract with PSG until 2029, will Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leave the capital club this summer? According to The Independent, the Georgian striker is on the shortlist of Arsenal, which is expected to carry out a significant reshuffle of its squad during the next transfer window.

As the British daily indicates, Arsenal wants to sell this summer and would consider the departure of a senior player to balance its finances. There could therefore be movement in both directions within the English club, beaten in the League Cup final by Manchester City (2-0) on Sunday but in an ideal position to be crowned in the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

A non-reciprocal interest?

Particular attention could be paid to the attack. If he delivers irregular performances in Ligue 1 this season, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia shines in the big Champions League events. This was the case, in particular, during the round of 16 against Chelsea. Author of the very first goal of the double confrontation, he then scored a double in the return match (5-2 then 3-0 for PSG).

The capital club, which recruited him fifteen months ago from Naples for 80 million euros, would not be open to a departure this summer. The 25-year-old would be considered an almost untransferable star.

For his part, the Georgian has, on several occasions, expressed his joy at playing for the European champions, and underlined his ambition to become one of their greatest players of all time. In an interview with Le Parisien at the beginning of March, he confided that he felt very good within the club and in the capital. “I had other options, other offers, but the way the coach and the sporting director presented the project to me impressed me. I didn’t think about it, I simply told my agent that I wanted to go to PSG,” he said.
